Building trust and friendship among young people is crucial if they are to negotiate successfully the challenges of growing up in London. To this end we organise a youth cell from 6pm – 7.15pm every Wednesday at the St Mary's Centre. It's open to anyone over the age of eleven. We aim to create a safe arena for young people to make friends outside school, to explore and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ, to share questions and problems, and gradually find their way.

No pressure is put on any youngster to be confirmed. The decision is theirs. The bishop comes to St Mary's once a year to conduct a confirmation service, and they can go forward as and when they and we feel they are ready. The important thing is that they feel valued and engaged in the life of the church at St Mary's.
