Through our baptism we are united in the fellowship of God’s Church with all believers and we are invited to the Lord’s Table to encounter the risen Christ. This invitation is not restricted to those who are learned or holy – it is for all the baptised. At St Mary’s we prepare baptised children to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion from the age of seven upwards (in Year 2 at school), if their parents wish them to do so. The children are then encouraged to take the adult step of confirmation when they are ready to do so in their teens.
