Under the terms of the original Trust Deed, dated 8 June 1870, which continues in force, there are seven Trustees of the living of St Mary the Virgin Primrose Hill.

The Provost of Eton College and the Vicar of Hampstead for the time being are Trustees ex officio, the church having been built on land owned by Eton College and lying in the ancient parish of St John at Hampstead.

In addition there are five other named persons, who in recent times have included at least three representatives of the parish, a senior cleric of the Church of England, and an independent Trustee.

The five present named persons are:

• Dr Christopher Kitching, Chairman
• Dr Caroline Dunn, Secretary
• Mr Paul Findlay
• Mrs Christine Brace
• The Rt Revd Clive Young, Bishop of Dunwich.

The Trustees have no other function than to appoint an incumbent to the living in the event of a vacancy.
